Reporting from the Gymnastics trials

So, Tony and I managed to make it into the Gymnastics trials in San Jose to catch the women’s final day. The girls are every bit as athletic and tiny as expected, bedecked in glittery unitards and tight pony tails and buns.

Jordyn Wieber again kicked button the uneven bars, tallying the highest score of the rotation with a 15.350. Gabrielle Douglas, who sits in second place on the overall standings, meanwhile had a phenomenal vault on which she scored 16.0 points.

I’ll try to provide updates as timely as possible, so stay tuned here for details, and watch this blog for Tony’s photos in the near future.
