Archery men give US its first medal — silver

The USA men’s team won the country’s first medal Saturday in team archery, a silver. The USA team trailed Italy from the start and allowed the gap to extend to six points early on. Brady Ellison, a favorite for the individual gold, Jake Kominski and Jacob Wukie whittled that gap to two, but they couldn’t catch the Italian team of Michele Frangilli, Marco Galiazzo and Mauro Nespoli. They lost 219-218.
Korea took the bronze with a 224-219 victory over Mexico.
